Let me tell you about me...
I'm a simple person, really. I love my Lord, I love my husband, my kids, and my grandkids. I try to be a loyal, trustworthy friend, always ready to listen, help, and pray. I'm definitely not perfect, but thankfully God uses the imperfect to show His glory.
Why do I write poems, songs, devotions, and articles/thoughts? Because it's what God gives me. I don't write like everyone else, or as often as everyone else, but I write what God lays on my heart. Sometimes it's for a specific person, while other times it's a conversation with my Jesus.
Scripture says in 1 Peter 4:10-11 (NLT), "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen." I believe writing and singing are two of the gifts God has given me, and He expects me to use those gifts to invite others into His eternal Kingdom.
